My February ‘26 in Review
And just like that, another month has flown by, admittedly a short one, but already the second in this “new” year. Time to take a quick look back. This was the first month where, according to Freeletics, I was active every single day. Every day, I did at least a few mobility and stretching exercises, and two or three times a week, I tackled a more intense workout. By now, I’ve actually built something resembling a routine. I hope it sticks, especially now that I’m back to cycling. But I think th...
I migrated to Nextcloud, not OpenCloud
Just last week I wrote that I am ready to switch from OneDrive to OpenCloud. But things have changed a bit since then. Hetzner announced a price increase, and I just ordered a new service from them: Storage Share powered by Nextcloud. So instead of switching to OpenCloud, I switched to Nextcloud. Honestly, I don’t want to care about self-hosting my files. I just want easy-to-use, European, and trustworthy online storage for my personal files. With an app to automatically back up the photos from...
My January ‘26 in Review
January is now behind us, making it the first month of 2026 to come to a close. Time to take a quick look back. For me, January was the second month in my new job. I’m really enjoying it so far. The topic of certificate management is interesting as well. During the last few days of January, I was in Schwäbisch Hall for work, as the whole team met there to plan the next release and get to know each other better through team-building activities. After the initial months consisted mostly of testing...
When did I start blogging?
When I rewrote my “About Me” page some days ago, I was thinking about how long I’ve already been blogging. My thought was 2016, so about 10 years. But reading about another blog birthday piqued my interest again, and I did some more research. One of my first projects was “appydroid,” an “open-source online news magazine about Android apps.” I was very much into Android app programming back then, downloaded and tried countless apps, and also posted on Google+ about it (who still remembers Google+...
My December ‘25 and my 2025 in Review
Some in my blogging circle have already published their 2025 year in review, so I want to continue my tradition since 2019 and write a review of my own. But first, a few words about the past month. December 2025 While December is usually a rather quiet month, 2025 turned out quite differently for me. On December 1st, I started my new job. Instead of the automotive industry, I’m now working on product development in the IT security sector. There was and still is a lot of new stuff to learn, many...
